On Thursday, April 12, 2018, at around 4:30 p.m., I found myself stuck in traffic on my usual route home. The road was congested, the heat oppressive, and the incessant honking only amplified my frustration.

As I muttered curses under my breath, a sudden breeze drifted in from the park to my right. The fresh, early summer air instantly cooled my nerves, offering a momentary escape from the chaos.

I’ve traveled this road countless times since childhood; I know every turn, every landmark. Yet, over the years, I’d unconsciously chosen to ignore the park’s quiet presence. But that day, exhausted by the madness of the road, curiosity got the better of me—I veered right, stepping into the park.

What began as a spontaneous detour quickly became my daily refuge from the evening rush. With each visit, I found myself paying closer attention—to the people, the rustling leaves, the rhythm of nature tucked within the urban sprawl.

“Park of Youth” is an exploration of humanity’s relationship with nature against the backdrop of the city—a quiet attempt to document the diverse community that breathes life into this small sanctuary.
